Harlaxton Manor and the Historic Lincoln Trust are delighted to announce a unique series of events to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Winston Churchill and celebrate the genesis of the ‘special relationship’ between Britain and the United States.
On the evening of 22nd October the Historic Lincoln Trust will host a dinner at Harlaxton Manor. The keynote speaker will be the Rt. Hon. Lord Soames of Fletching, grandson of Sir Winston and former Conservative Minister. This Winston Churchill inspired dinner is also held in memory of the late Lord Cormack DL, FSA, FRHistS, who did so much to preserve and present the history of Lincolnshire.
The evening will included VIP access to a special display of Churchilliana from a largely hitherto unseen private collection “Meeting Winston Churchill’. An introduction to his life and leadership, 1874-1965. Come and see some highlights from one of this country’s biggest private collections of Churchilliana, on loan to Harlaxton. Meet Winston Churchill’s waxwork, see one of his paintings and find out about different aspects of this remarkable man and his wartime leadership through a unique display of cartoons and artefacts.
